Our next stop was at the Arizona Listening Session where Arizona Representative Mariana Sandoval welcomed the Mexican-American Policy Alliance to the vibrant and diverse city of Phoenix. The session gathered an impressive and varied group of leaders from state, federal, and international sectors, and included partners from education, finance, nonprofit, and business communities—all united by a shared commitment to binational collaboration.

At the Nevada Listening Session, State Senator Edgar Flores warmly welcomed the Mexican-American Policy Alliance to the vibrant and dynamic city of Las Vegas. The session brought together an impressive and diverse group of leaders from the state, federal, and international sectors, alongside partners from education, finance, nonprofit, and business communities—all united by a shared commitment to collaboration and progress. In attendance was the Consul of Mexico in Las Vegas, Patricia Cortés Guadarrama, as well as Nevada Secretary of State Francisco “Cisco” Aguilar.

Chicago, Illinois
The first stop in MAPA’s National Listening Tour was on November 20, 2025 in the City of Chicago. MAPA is grateful to our generous hosts, Senator Omar Aquino and Alderman Michael Rodriguez for allowing us to share our vision and strategize with trusted allies in the City of Chicago. We convened over 30 elected officials, nonprofit, private and labor sector leaders and refined our mission and vision, as well as discussed what MAPA should be focusing on as an emerging organization. Participants shared their excitement for building support for binational work in Illinois and how this would benefit communities across Illinois.

California-Mexico Initiative - Inaugural Summit 2024
The California-Mexico Initiative, led by Tzunu Strategies, Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF), CHIRLA, AltaMed, and Entravision, organized a powerful delegation of state and local elected officials, heads of key organizations, and business sector leaders to convene at a summit in Mexico City on November 11-12.
This year’s summit focused on three major issues: economic prosperity, energy policy, and social and cultural exchanges. By fostering dialogue and collaboration on these critical topics, it built a stronger, more interconnected future. Together, the participants not only confronted the challenges posed by division but also celebrated shared values and aspirations to create a brighter path forward for both California and Mexico, enriching communities and driving shared success for generations to come.
